The goal of the American English Corner (AEC) is to provide a safe and inclusive space for female and male students to practice and apply skills they learn in class. The AEC would host English Club, English learning materials and books, tutoring, and a Monthly English Movie Night. The room can accommodate 20 students at a time, large enough for English Club and other gatherings, but small enough to be intimate and foster conversations about English, culture, equality, and female empowerment.

The primary objective set by the student steering committee, entirely composed of young women, has been to provide a space where students want to come and practice English during their free time and after school. They hope the AEC will be a place where all students can spend time relaxing in a safe environment, where boys and girls have equal access to materials and teachers. As the student population is 72.3 percent female, the AEC stands to direct resources towards a school with an outsized female student population.

The community group is prepared to provide a renovated room, labor, and equipment for the AEC. The potential impact of the project is increasing both female and male students' English language ability to prepare them for final exams, university, and jobs. The AEC will also allow students to learn about culture from English speaking countries such as the United States of America and to engage in conversations about different cultural and gender norms.
