The goal of "Healthy Rocks" project is to promote healthy habits and positive self-development experience among both female and male students and other community members through sports. This project will allow female students have equal access to opportunities to a variety of sports without gender discrimination.
The first objective of this project focus on encouraging students make healthy life choices by providing them access to resources and physical education training necessary.
The second objective is to help students form a positive self-development and life-skills by participating during and after-school activities that promote team building, gender equality, and female empowerment, volunteerism, and leadership skills. The third objective is to boost sports and community events that encourage community members to live a healthier life and build a close relationship with the school community.
The final objective focuses on creating equal opportunity and empowering both female and male students to participate in sports and address issues that pertain to gender inequality. For instance, encouraging female students participate in team-sports or activities where traditionally mainly male students are expected to lead; field-sports activities where boys mainly domain; athletic activities where girls by definition are not often expected to excel. In order to accomplish this objective, the school will invite a trainer and conduct training on leadership and gender equality to promote equal involvement in all extra curriculum sports activities. The goal is to invite between 30 to 60 female and male students and teachers who then will transfer the knowledge gained during training to others.
The local school community has initiated and designed Healthy Rocks project. They will also make both kind and in-kind contribution towards transportation, labor, food, space to conduct training, and office supplies. The grant fund will be used to purchase sports equipment for the school stadium located outside. Equipmentâs include parallel gymnastic bars, maze, climbing frame, gymnastics balance beam, gymnastic mushrooms, complete sports set and aerobics mats. This project will provide a tremendous support and benefit to both male and female students and an outside community. In addition, it will connect all members and allow them to develop a sense of community and positive social interaction.
