Zambia | Primary School Classroom Block Completion and Computer Resource Room

Coons, P.
volunteer from New York
in Zambia

The Southern Province School District is comprised of 13 small rural villages. Our school is located about 20 kilometers away from town. The school district has been experiencing an increase of student population and not enough classrooms needed to fulfill the students' needs. Two of the classrooms will be used as everyday classrooms and the third classroom will be used a resource room with computers and books.

The community will be contributing the labor and obtaining natural resources found in the community such as sand to mix with cement. The addition of these classrooms will have a great impact on this rural community by providing enough space for the children to learn. Also its allowing the children access to newer technology of using computers, which is needed for the children to have in order to have better opportunities for succeeding in life.
