This project will be a community effort to increase the collaboration within Vinnitska Oblast schools, students and community members through a Theater Club. It will provide an opportunity for all students to discover and exercise their talents in dramatization while creating a safe space for boys and girls to participate in such themes as Gender Equality, Civic Engagement, Leadership, Tolerance, Respect, and Teamwork. Through trainings by focusing on prominent social issues, generating discussions around gender equality and keeping civic engagement within the community as a central focal point. Some activities of the club will include building of sets/props, costume construction, lighting and music management, development of Stage Crew (students who will build/manage the production), and fostering of acting classes with the local Actors Guild. This project will be conducted by both boys and girls, focusing on role-reversal of what is typically a "man's" job or "woman's job"€ such as costume construction or set building. The project will prepare one large play production per season focused on a specific social issue alongside smaller dramatizations focused toward specific groups within the community (i.e., the elderly, soldiers, holidays, etc.)

This project has been designed to expand access to education for girls in Ukraine as part of the Let Girls Learn Program. Learn more at letgirlslearn.peacecorps.gov.
